Qtel is an Equal Opportunity Employer and in recent years, we have done much to create a platform for progressive people practices and programs in keeping with our vision to make Qtel a preferred employer, not just in Qatar but also in the region.
|
We are proud of our success at integrating some of the best global HR practices as part of our people management programs. Employee development remains high on Qtel's list of priorities and throughout 2005 the company initiated a number of projects designed to develop our existing employees while simultaneously seeking out new talent to sustain excellence.
A new job evaluation system has recently been developed to provide employees with a career-map framework allowing them to move vertically or horizontally within the organization.
Qtel is one of the few companies in the region to use a Balanced Scorecard metric to cascade corporate objectives down through divisions and units, thus ensuring the company's objectives are aligned and being met throughout the organization.
We have recently concluded a managerial skill assessment of senior and middle management staff, concurrently, efforts are underway to develop and expand Qtel's core competencies, which are derived from its core values. Future assessments will be based on this competency framework and will be institutionalized as part of Qtel's talent sourcing process.
Another strategic HR initiative is competitive compensation to make sure pay is in line with employee performance and market benchmarks.
Going forward, the organization has outlined leadership development, employee engagement and enhanced internal communication as its key priorities since 2006.
