Qtel introduces today a new Mozaic MOB service called “Tarjim”.
Tarjim is an SMS based translation service which enables customers to translate words or short phrases from English to Arabic and vice versa. The customers simply send an SMS with an English or Arabic word or phrase to 2422 and then they will receive the translated caption back via SMS. As a part of the promotion, Tarjim is free to all for the first two weeks.
Sh. Fahad Bin Jassim Al-Thani, Qtel’s COO said “Many of our customers will find Tarjim useful and convenient to use. Students now have a dictionary at their fingertips and shoppers trying to understand promotions can translate the messages into their preferred language. These are just some examples of how our customers could use this service. “
The cost of this service is only 50 Dirham per sent SMS and it’s free till July 7th, 2008.
