1. What is the "Free Number" Service?

"Free Number" is a mobile service where
a customer can nominate a frequently called Qtel
mobile or landline number (i.e. wife, kid,
friend, office etc.), and Text or/and call that
number free for as long as you remain on Shahry
200, 300 or 575. Shahry 200 customers are
allowed to send only SMSs while Shahry 300 are
allowed only calls. However, Shahry 575 & 1000 customers can send SMS and Call to their Free Number(s) as long as wish. |
2. Is this service available for all Qtel mobile users?

No. At the moment this service is only available for Qtel's Pay monthly users under Shahry 200, 300, 575 and 1000.

3. How much will it cost me to avail this service?

None. At the moment, this service is free of any charges (both recurring and one time), as long as the customer is subscribed under Shahry 200 or more.

4. Can I nominate any number?
|

Customers, who opted for the Free Number service, can only nominate Qtel Mobile and Landline numbers. Customers cannot nominate International numbers (numbers outside Qatar or those that have a difference country code), or numbers that belongs to another telecom operator in Qatar.

5. Can I change my nominated number?

Yes, but you can only change your nominated number once per month (2 number changes allowed for Shahry 1000 customers). You will not be allowed to change your number if you have already changed it during the current billing month.

6. Are the calls to my nominated Free Number deducted from my Value Pack's allocated free minutes or SMSs?

No. Your calls or SMSs towards your nominated free number are not deducted from your Value pack's allocated free minutes or SMSs, nor is it charged to your bill using standard rates.

7. Can I also make a Video call or send MMS, etc. to my nominated number, free of Charge?

No. Only SMS and/or Voice calls towards the Nominated number are free. Other services like MMS, Video calls, etc., even towards the nominated number, are still charged on your available value pack allocation or at standard Shahry rates if you beyond your Value Pack allocation. For Shahry 200 voice calls made to the Free Number is charged and for Shahry 300 SMSs charged to their nominated free number.

8. How do I subscribe to this service?

Pls. note that this service is only available for Shahry Value pack 200, 300, 575 and 1000 subscribers. You may subscribe to this service through the following:
i. By calling 111 or 114 and talking to one of our Customer service representative.
ii. By going to one of our Qtel shops.

9. Can I opt-out of the service anytime? If yes, How? |

Yes, customer can unsubscribe from the service at any point of time. You can do this by the same means as subscribing (Calling 111 Customer service representatives, or by going to Qtel shops).

| 10. How much will it cost me to opt out of this service? |

At the moment, opting out of the service is Free of Charge. |
| 11. What will happen if my nominated number is a Qtel number, but roaming outside of Qatar? |

You may still call your nominated number free of charge, as if he/she is in Qatar. The called party however, shall still be charged with Roaming charges as per Normal.

| 12. I opted for Free Number. But I don't see on my bill the calls that I made to my nominated number, why? |

Calls made toward the nominated free number are not reflect ed on the bill.

| 13. As a Free number subscriber, are all my SMS or calls (wherever applicable) to my Free number free of charge? |

Yes however the free number service is subject to Qtel’s fair usage policy.
